GlossWorks Detailed: Porsche 911 Turbo
This car belongs to a regular client of mine, and has been featured previously on GlossWorks sometime last summer (previous writeup here). It has since received a full paint job to a rare Porsche color from the GT3 RS color palette: Riviera Blue. This is probably one of the ultimate 911 Turbo’s in Vancouver, with its engine having been majorly tuned and the car always going through spoiler, wheels, and seat changes in search of the perfect look.
This car also recently made a cameo appearance in the upcoming blockbuster, Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, so keep an eye out for it when the movie hits theatres this summer!
Car looked fairly clean when it was pulled into the wash bay.
The wheels were coated in a heavy layer of brake dust.
Close up of the dirt.
No pictures were taken of the washing/cleansing process since I was in a rush to complete the wash before wrapping things up for the night since it was a late start. Car was dried off and delicate parts taped off, ready for polishing the next day.
All the trim was taped off to prevent damage from the polisher.
Day 2: Time to inspect the paint condition. I was expecting the car to be in relatively good condition since it was painted just a few months ago.
Light scuffs and scratches here and there, nothing too major.
The plastic side vents were the most scratched up parts of the car.
Gloss restored after polishing.
Refining the paint on the hood.
Giving the carbon fiber side mirrors a quick polish.
Lots of swirls on the doors by the door handles.
That was all removed after polishing.
Swirls and light scratches were visible on the carbon fiber rear wing.
Close up of the carbon fiber weave after polishing, scratches removed.
As I made my way to the back, a long scratch was found on the rear bumper.
Swirling on the rear hatch.
After polishing, the depth and gloss were restored to a higher level.
Since this car recently received a brand new paint job, it was decided that even the door jambs would be machine polished and sealed for extra protection.
Much improved gloss on the door jambs.
After the exterior paintwork was complete, it was time to work on the paint on the interior console. Swirls everywhere!
This was hand polished instead of the machine to reduce dusting in the cabin.
All polished and sealed. Looks much better!
The rest of the interior was given a vacuum, seats and dash were then cleaned and conditioned before inspecting the work.
Checking the depth and gloss of the front end.
GlossWorks approved.
The wheels were cleaned and sealed for extra protection from brake dust and makes future cleaning easier.
The paint now looks dripping wet compared to before it was polished.
No outdoor shots since it was raining, but here is the car ready for pickup.

(A special thanks goes out to Iziah at Goldstar Carwash Centre in Richmond for providing us with the location once again to properly detail this wonderful machine.)
